Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Wednesday

Court 2 at 10am trial of Harry Gittins accused of the murder of a homeless man. Anthony Marks, 51, was assaulted in the early hours of 10 August in a bin shed near King’s Cross St Pancras station. He died on 25 September 2024.

Court 5 at 10am trial of Jordan Burton charged with murder after a victim of a violent assault died from a fatal epileptic seizure more than 15 years after the attack. Daniel Allright was 16 when he was attacked in south-east London in September 2006. He was struck over the head with a piece of wood, an advertising board and a bicycle chain, leaving him with brain injuries that caused seizures.

Court 6 at 10am Sentence of Paul Street , a former Cambridgeshire police sergeant who filmed himself making threats intended to be shown to a child in custody, requested intimate images of a member of the public from a colleague, and fostered a toxic culture among his team. He was found guilty of misconduct in public office. PC Josh Williams admitted the same charge and will also be sentenced.

Court 6 at 2pm trial in the case of a woman accused of expressing support for Hamas and “celebrating” the October 7 attacks in Israel during a public speech. She has denied terror offences.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Joanna Cierpka, a 51 year old Polish woman, who is accused of killing Danish bankeer Henrik Slotsaa, 52, at their home in Elephant and Castle, South London.
