Court 2 at 10.30am Sentence of Matthew Haydon, 47, charged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life or property in Loring Road, Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire. He was playing around with explosive substances and accidentally blew himself up. Neighbours heard a “loud, thudding boom” and felt their house shake and saw the defendant’s window had smashed. He said his arm went numb and his ears were left ringing.
Court 5 at 10am trial of three family members accused of the murder of 10 year old Sara Sharif, whose body was discovered at her home in Woking, Surrey. The child’s father, Urfan Sharif, 42, stepmother, Beinash Batool, 30, and uncle, Faisal Malik, 28, are accused of murder and to causing or allowing the death of a child between December 16 2022 and August 9 2023. The father admitted punishing her for being”naughty” after fleeing to Pakistan. She suffered a catalogue of appalling injuries including broken bones, bites, and iron burns.
Court 6 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Ronan Hughes convicted over the deaths of 39 Vietnamese migrants found in a lorry container in Essex.
Court 6 at 10.30am trial of Dzhamilya Timaeva, 19, who gained a place at an Islamic Sunday school in order to teach her “extremist” beliefs to young children, the court heard. She saw it as a “duty” of her Islamic faith to “wage war against non-believers”, it is alleged.
Court 6 at 11am Sentence of Deveca Rose charged with four counts of manslaughter after her two sets of twin sons were killed in a fire in Sutton, south London in 2021. Kyson and Bryson Hoath, aged four, and Leyton and Logan Hoath, aged three, all died in the blaze.
Court 7 at 10.30am trial of Christopher Wilson accused of murder. The victim, 18-year-old Kacem Mokrane, was stabbed in the stomach in Walthamstow, east London.
Court 9 at 10.30am trial of hospital worker Benjamin Aninakwa and an NHS trust who have both denied causing the death of a 22-year-old mental health patient after she allegedly gained access to items used in 18 earlier attempts to take her own life. Alice Figueiredo died at Goodmayes Hospital, north-east London, in 2015.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Saqib Khan and others accused in relation to the murder of 26-year-old Anselam Senaj, who was stabbed to death inside a car in East London.
Court 13 at 10am New trial of John Budal and two others accused of murder. Michael Patrick Afonso Peixoto, 27, was stabbed to death on 19 December in Croydon, South London in what was described as a “premeditated attack”
Court 14 at 10.30am trial of Dajour Jones accused of the murder of 20-year-old Jamie Gilbey, who disappeared. His body was found in South Norwood, South London
Court 15 at 9.45am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Lorik Lupqi accused of two murders and attempted murder. He is alleged to have stabbed to death of 15-year-old Leonardo Reid, and 23-year-old Klevi Shekaj. A third man was injured in the same incident in Islington, North London. Lupqi was extradited back to this country from Kosovo
