Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday
Court 5 at 9.30am Jury deliberating in the trial of Mark Gordon and Constance Marten charged with manslaughter, concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. A huge search was sparked when Constance was known to have given birth. The couple went on the run because they did not want the baby to be taken into care. The baby’s body was found in woodland near Brighton.
Court 5 at 10am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Deveca Rose charged with four counts of manslaughter after her two sets of twin sons were killed in a fire in Sutton, south London in 2021. Kyson and Bryson Hoath, aged four, and Leyton and Logan Hoath, aged three, all died in the blaze.
Court 7 at 11.15am New trial in the case of Wael Farroukh accused of murder. Milton Hurlington,42, was stabbed to death in Wembley, West London.
Court 10 at 10am Sentence in the case of Trevor Baker accused of the murder of Carolyn Kemp,34. Baker is serving a 16 year sentence for attempting to murder her in 2009. She died in 2022 and Baker has now been charged with murder as the injuries he caused in 2009 allegedly resulted in her death years later.
Court 11 at 10.30am Mention in the case of Rabia Aktar accused of the murder of 21-year-old Sadiya Akter. The victim was found dead in a property in Limehouse, East London. Both women were known to each other.
Court 12 at 10am trial of Tyrese Barnett and seven others in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott, 17, died in hospital in Tottenham, North London from a gunshot wound to his head.
Court 12 at 10.30pm Pre-trial review in the case of Dylan Weatherley, 20, and two others charged with the murder of Koray Alpergin, 43, who was kidnapped with his girlfriend Gozde Dalbudak, 34, and then tortured to death in October 2022.
Court 13 at 10am Pre-trial review in the case of Tyreece Riggon and another in relation to the murder of Lavaun Witter,22, who was stabbed to death in Croydon, south London
Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Enriko Spadiu and others accused of murder. Kai McGinley,24, was shot dead in Erith, Kent.
