CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON THURSDAY
Court 1 at 10am In chambers Inquest into the death of Sabrina Rizvi, 25,who was fatally shot in the early hours of 20 March 2003 outside Bexleyheath police station in South London. The inquest follows a long fight by the victim’s family to get the death looked into again.
Court 3 at 10am Case management in the case of Suvenca Martis and two others, who are charged with murdering Richard Obi, 25, whose body was found by his sister after she received a mystery call and was directed to the scene. The victim’s mother was tied up with duct tape close to the body of her son. Obi had been stabbed nine time.
Court 3 at 10.45am Mention in the case of Tresor Lukusa accused of murder after he was arrested at Heathrow Airport. Fergany Mvuezolo, 35, was run over by a car and killed in Newham, East London.
Court 3 at 2pm Pre-trial review in the case of Mohamed Nur accused of an unprovoked stranger murder in broad daylight on a woman in Brixton, South London. Johanita Dogbey, 31, was attacked from behind with a makeshift blade.
Court 5 at 10am Mention in the case of Northampton teacher Fiona Beal accused of stabbing to death her partner, Nicholas Billingham,42.
Court 5 at 10am sentence in the case of Valentin Lazar a convicted murderer who was jailed for life for battering and strangling a vulnerable woman and leaving her naked body in a shrubbery. He has now pleaded guilty to raping 45-year-old Maria Rawlings.
Court 5 at 12 noon Pre-trial review in the case of Urslaan Khan charged with expressing support for Hamas in a way that was “reckless as to whether a person to whom the expression was directed would be encouraged to support a proscribed organisation” during a protest on October
Court 5 Not sitting trial in the case of Mark Gordon and Constance Marten charged with manslaughter, concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. A huge search was sparked when Constance was known to have given birth. The couple went on the run because they did not want the baby to be taken into care. The baby’s body was found in woodland near Brighton.
Court 7 at 10.15am trial of Denzel Kwateng and seven others in relation to the murder of 17-year-old Denardo Samuels-Brooks, who was stabbed to death in Streatham, South London.
Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Enriko Spadiu and others accused of murder. Kai McGinley,24, was shot dead in Erith, Kent.
Court 9 at 10am trial of of Adele Okojie Aidonojie, who is alleged to have killed two passengers in her Mini Cooper after it rolled over. A third passenger was injured in the accident. Both Mary Macharia, 23, and Rida Boutjettif, 24, died in the crash in Battersea, South West London
Court 12 at 10am trial of Tyrese Barnett and seven others in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott, 17, who died in hospital in Tottenham, North London from a gunshot wound to his head.
Court 16 at 10.30am trial in the case of Asad Sharif and seven others in relation to the murder of 18-year-old Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah in East London in 2021. The victim was shot and stabbed.
