CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY
Court 1 at 10am Inquest into the death of Sabrina Rizvi, 25,who was fatally shot in the early hours of 20 March 2003 outside Bexleyheath police station in South London. The inquest follows a long fight by the victim’s family to get the death looked into again.
Court 2 at 12 noon Plea and trial preparation in the case of three suspected Russian spies. Bulgarian nationals, Orlin Roussev, Biser Dzhambazov and Katrin Ivanova were arrested in February under the Official Secrets Act after being found with multiple passports from different countries.
Court 5 Not sitting trial in the case of Mark Gordon and Constance Marten charged with manslaughter, concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. A huge search was sparked when Constance was known to have given birth. The couple went on the run because they did not want the baby to be taken into care. The baby’s body was found in woodland near Brighton.
Court 6 at 10am trial of Michael Ematuwo and three other alleged drug dealers accused of plotting to murder a rival. They were arrested after police decoded conversations on an encrypted military-grade chat room.
Court 7 at 10am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Trevor Baker accused of the murder of Carolyn Kemp,34. Baker is serving a 16 year sentence for attempting to murder her in 2009. She died in 2022 and Baker has now been charged with murder as the injuries he caused in 2009 allegedly resulted in her death years later
Court 7 at 10.30am trial of Denzel Kwateng and seven others in relation to the murder of 17-year-old Denardo Samuels-Brooks, who was stabbed to death in Streatham, South London.
Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Enriko Spadiu and others accused of murder. Kai McGinley,24, was shot dead in Erith, Kent.
Court 9 at 10am trial in the case of Karl Black and others accused of murder. Jordan Briscoe, 25, was stabbed to death in Tottenham, North London
Court 10 at 9.45am Mention in the case of Aston Lambert accused of the murder of a 78 year old man in Earls Court, London SW
Court 10 at 10am Sentence in the case of Migen Emilova and another in relation to the murder of Stefan Stelian Moraru, 44, who was stabbed through the heart in Barnet, Herts.
Court 11 at 10.30am trial of Reiss Sealy accused of murder. Givani Espuet was stabbed to death outside a restaurant in Wembley, West London.
Court 12 at 10.30am trial of Tyrese Barnett and seven others in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott, 17, who died in hospital in Tottenham, North London from a gunshot wound to his head.
Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Asad Sharif and seven others in relation to the murder of 18-year-old Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah in East London in 2021. The victim was shot and stabbed.
