Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday
Court 2 at 10am trial in the case of Petko Zhutev who was arrested in a police operation that netted up to 184 million pounds worth of cocaine.
Court 6 at 10.30am Mention in the case of Mark Gordon and Constance Marten charged with manslaughter, concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. A huge search was sparked when Constance was known to have given birth but no baby was with them. The baby’s body was found in woodland near Brighton.
Court 6 at 2pm trial of Jamal Grant and two others accused of stabbing to death 25-year-old Devon Jensen-Wallace in Brent, West London.
Court 7 at 10am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Verushan Manoharan accused of stabbing to death his 89 year old grandmother.
Court 11 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Amina Noor accused of aiding the genital mutilation of a three-year-old girl in 2006. She allegedly took the three-year-old girl to Kenya where the procedure to remove the child’s clitoris was performed. She claimed she did not know the purpose of the trip.
Court 12 at 10am trial of Joshua Broddle and others in relation to the discovery of two explosive devices in Greys Inn, in the heart of London’s legal quarter.
Court 13 at 10am trial in the case of Ronnie Haydon and others accused of murder. Imran Isat,30, was stabbed to death in Newbury Park, East London
Court 15 at 10.30am Pre-Inquest into the death of Sabrina Rizvi, 25,who was fatally shot in the early hours of 20 March 2003 outside Bexleyheath police station in South London. The inquest follows a long fight by the victim’s family to get the death looked into again.
Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Amraj Poonia and five others accused over the murder of Mohammed Shah Subhani,27, known as Shah, who was reported missing on May 7, 2019, when he failed to return to his home in Hounslow, west London. His body, which allegedly had shown signs of being tied up and burned, was found by chance in woodland.
