Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday
Court 1 at 9.30am trial of tram driver Alfred Dorris, he was in control of the tram that crashed at Sandilands, Croydon in November 2016, killing seven people and injuring 51. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of breaking health and safety laws that led to the derailment. It is claimed he had a micro sleep when going three times the speed limit.
Court 2 at 10am trial in the case of Petko Zhutev who was arrested in a police operation that netted up to 184 million pounds worth of cocaine.
Court 5 at 9.30am Case management in the case of Liban Ali,28, accused of murder. Andre Foster, also known as Andre Jacks, 44, died from a stab to the neck.
Court 5 at 3.30pm Mention in the case of Keven Antonio Lourenco De Morais accused of the murder of Kontham Tejaswini,27, and the attempted murder of a second woman, aged 28. Both were stabbed.
Court 6 at 10am trial in the case of Godfrey Madondo and two others accused of murder. Jeremiah Sewell, 19, was stabbed in the neck as he sat in a parked car in Lewisham, London SE.
Court 7 at 10am trial in the case of Ronnie Haydon and others accused of murder. Imran Isat,30, was stabbed to death in Newbury Park, East London
Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Leone Davies and others accused of murder. The victim, 31-year-old Mirko Naramcic was stabbed to death.
Court 9 at 10am trial in the case of Muhammad Arslan accused of murder. Muhammad Arslan, 26, is accused of killing Hina Bashir, 21, whose body was found in a suitcase in a ditch in Upminster, Essex. She came from same village as him, in Pakistan.
Court 12 at 10am trial of pensioner John Apelgren,79, accused of murdering a sex worker 48 years ago. Eileen Cotter,22, was found strangled outside a block of garages in Highbury, North London
Court 15 at 10.30am Sentence of Abdirisak Ali and three others following the murder of 18-year-old Kacem Mokrane, who was stabbed in the stomach in Walthamstow, East London in November 2017
Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Amraj Poonia and five others accused over the murder of Mohammed Shah Subhani,27, known as Shah, who was reported missing on May 7, 2019, when he failed to return to his home in Hounslow, west London. His body, which allegedly had shown signs of being tied up and burned was found by chance in woodland.
