CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON THURSDAY

Court 1 at 10am trial in the case of Kaine Gilead accused of murder. The victim 25-year-old Ramane Wiggan, was shot dead in Lambeth, South London.

Court 5 at 10am trial in the case of Sean Maurice,29, accused of murdering his father. Paul Maurice, 51, was found with multiple stab wounds to his chest atr a house in Bromley, London SE.

Court 6 at 9.30am Mention in the case of lorry driver Gheorghe Nica, who was jailed after 39 Vietnamese migrants died in the back of a lorry discovered in Essex.

Court 6 at 10am trial in the case of Mohamed El Abboud, 26 and Kusai Al-jundi, 23 who have both been charged with the murder of Louise Kam,71. The pensioner was last seen by a family member near the Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet, Herts at around 12.30hrs on Monday, 26 July. Her body was found at an address in Harrow, Middlesex on Sunday, 1 August.

Court 7 at 10am trial in the case of Steven Allan who denies the murder of millionaire banker Paul Mason,52. Allan knocked Mason to the ground with an uppercut punch, believing he had stolen his friends phone. Mason, the CEO for Qatar National Bank, died six months later from brain injuries. Allan admits manslaughter

Court 8 at 10am trial of Ali Ceesay, 28, and others charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a prohibited weapon. It is alleged Mr Ceesay fatally shot Mr Mohamud, who died at the scene, in North London on September 21 2020. Two other men, aged in their 20s and 30s, also suffered gunshot injuries and were treated in hospital before being discharged.

Court 11 at 10am trial in the case of Kieran McHugh and another accused of murder. Abdi Khadar Adan,32, died in hospital after he was stabbed in East London at around 4.30pm on Sunday August 22.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Rhys Barrow and others accused of two attempted murders after two men were shot in Walthamstow, East London. Kaan Cicek was shot in the leg outside a kebab shop in November 2017 while a second man, Stephen Lawrence, was targeted while crossing a junction on the High Street in July 2018. The court heard that the shootings formed part of a wider spate of violence between the Mali Boys and the Higham Hill/Priory Court gang in E17.

Court 14 at 10am Pre-trial review in the case of Tariq Monteiro, 21, who allegedly fled the country after 16-year-old Alex Smith was fatally stabbed in 2019 on the Regent’s Park Estate in Camden. He was arrested in Kenya’s capital Nairobi before being brought back to the UK.

Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Deekan Vig accused of murdering his 86 year old father. The pensioner died of a head wound.
