Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Friday

Court 1 at 11am Mention in the case of Agash Jeyanandam accused of the murder of a man in his 40’s in South Norwood, South London

Court 5 at 10am Mention in the case of Suvenca Martis, who is charged with murdering Richard Obi, 25, whose body was found by his sister after she received a mystery call and was directed to the scene. The victim’s mother was tied up with duct tape close to the body of her son. Obi had been stabbed nine times.

Court 6 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Leon Rashid and three other teenagers accused of attempted murder. Police were called to Henry Road, Brixton, South London at 6.15pm on February 23, where they found James Bascoe-Smith,17, suffering from stab injuries.

Court 6 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Shaddai Smith accused of murder.   Renato Geci, 21, was found with fatal stab wounds in Hounslow, London NW on 22 March.

Court 6 at 10.30am trial Nathan Smith who was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 30-year-old Algerian delivery rider Takieddine ‘Taki’ Boudhane in an alleged road rage incident.

Court 7 at 10am Case management in the case of former Commonwealth cruiserweight boxing champion Wadi Camacho, who was accused of terrorist related offences.

Court 7 at 2pm Sentence in the case of Ibrahim Lunat accused of attempted murder following the stabbing of a 16 year old youth in Hackney, East London.

Court 8 at 10am trial of Romain Lapierre and others, including a youth who was 15 at the time of the offence, accused of murder. The victim, 16-year-old Camron Smith, was stabbed to death in Croydon, South London.

Court 10 at 10am trial of Leeban Farah and five others accused of conspiracy to murder following a “gun battle” outside a funeral party in London NW. The victim, Billy McCullagh, 27, who was shot dead, had travelled with his friends in a stolen Land Rover to target rival gang members in July 2020, but the “tables quickly turned” and the surprise attack failed, the court heard.

Court 11 at 10am trial in the case of Kofi Nyanor and others accused drugs and conspiracy to commit violence offences.

Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of Jeremiah Briscoe accused of conspiracy to commit GBH. Natalie Bignell,33, caught in the cross fire of a shoot out between rival gangs in Hackney, East London and was shot in the neck. She was rendered a quadriplegic by injuries she sustained.

Court 16 at 10.30am trial of Daryl Bethel and others accused of the murder of a 15 year old schoolboy. Ian Habimana was stabbed in the heart in Woolwich last July as he made his way home from school in what was described as a “revenge attack”
