CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON THURSDAY

Court 5 at 9.30am Hearing in the case of Eamonn Harrison in relation to a lorry in which 39 Vietnamese migrants died. Eight women and 31 men were found in the container in Purfleet, Essex, on 23 October last year. Police said they died from a lack of oxygen and overheating in an enclosed space.

Court 5 Mention in the case of Dean Smith accused of murdering his 13 year old daughter. Masie Newell suffered head injuries when she was a four week old baby in 2000 and died in 2014 allegedly as a result of the injuries.

Court 5 at 10am Mention in the case of Tyek Campbell, 21, charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin and conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Court 5 at 2pm Sentence in the case of Immanuel Oyewo, 19, who is accused of trying to shoot dead a Hasidic Jewish man. He allegedly approached Zeev Levy, a complete stranger, and attempted to open fire with a loaded six-shot-gate gun on 17 February.  

Court 8 at 10.15am trial of Aydin Altun and two other members of his family accused of trying to mow down a police officer after a shooting in Tottenham, North London.

Court 10 at 10am Extradition hearing continues in the case of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. He is wanted in the US for allegedly conspiring with army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to expose military secrets between January and May 2010

Court 14 at 10am trial continues of Jimmy Onesta accused of rape. The victim was allegedly subjected to threats and a campaign of abuse. She told police that she only stayedMention in the case of Ryan Gordon accused of conspiracy to murder and firearms offences. with him because she was frightened

Court 16 at 10am trial of Errol James, 51, and Romello Briggs-Leon, 25, who deny murder. Eraj Seifi, 46, was shot in the head in West London.
