CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 1 at 10am Mention in the case of Shaian Forde, 25,  and two schoolboys aged 14 and 16, accused of murder.  Santino Angelo Dymiter,18, was stabbed to death in East London

Court 1 at 10.30am trial of Stephen Whiteley and Ziad Akle, former territory managers for Iraq at energy consultancy Unaoil, along with their co-defendant Paul Bond, former Middle East sales manager at Dutch energy firm SBM. They are accused of bribing officials in Iraq for contracts worth US$800 million to rebuild the country’s oil industry after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Court 8 at 10am case of six teenagers over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old student Josiph Beker, who was stabbed outside a KFC in Edgeware Road, central London.

Court 9 at 10am Preliminary hearing in the case of Mohammed Chowdhury accused of terrorist related offences.

Court 12 at 10am Mention in the case of Elton Sefa, who was extradited from Albania on a murder charge.  He is accused of beating to death John Woodward, 47, a builder, whose body was found on a roof in Hatton Garden, central London.

Court 12 at 11.30am Mention in the case of Dean Smith accused of murdering his 13 year old daughter. Masie Newell suffered head injuries when she was a four week old baby in 2000 and died in 2014 allegedly as a result of the injuries.

Court 12 at 12.15pm pre-trial review  in the case of Yasin Amare accused of murder. Gleb Zhebrovsky, also known as Gleb Stalnoy, was knifed in Poplar, East London and died at the scene.The 34-year-old Chelsea fan, who was born in Russia and moved to England aged 17, founded Hands On Crew. It provides labourers to the construction and events industries.

Court 12 at 2pm Trial of Uran Nabiev accused of killing Jake Kemp, 26, in an alleged hit and run motoring collision in Bexley, Kent.

Court 13 at 10am Mention in the case of Francis Appiagyei and two others accused of murder. David Bello-Monerville,38, was fatally stabbed in Barnet, north London, on 18 June. The victim’s two brothers had also met violent deaths.

Court 13 at 11am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Umit Hayta charged with attempted murder and two counts of GBH after two people were stabbed in Homerton, east London

Court 13 at 2pm Sentence in the case of motorist Muhim Miah. He is alleged to have  mowed down and killed a young barmaid while she celebrated her birthday. Charlotte Kenning, 26, was struck by a red Vauxhall Astra driven by Muhim Miah in Limeharbour, Tower Hamlets, East London on 25 May and died in hospital the following day.

Court 16 at 10am Sentence in the case of bin man Robert Collins, who admitted causing death by careless driving. His colleague, father of five, Paul Abbott,55, was struck by their rubbish truck when Collins failed to apply the handbrake properly.
