Court 8 at 10am trial of Omar Prempeh,32, and four others accused of the murder of a 16-year-old, Lathaniel Burrell, who was fatally shot in south London
Court 9 at 10am trial of Ashenafei Demissie who claimed his electric car moved by itself before striking and killing a five year old boy and injuring his son. He had been parked outside his flat in Borough, south London, in November 2022 when his Volkswagen ID.4 moved forward and hit the two boys before crashing into five stationary cars, the court heard. He claimed a fault on the electric vehicle caused it to accelerate “of its own accord” before striking the youngsters, who were playing outside.
Court 10.30am New trial in the case of Russian sea captian Vladimir Motin. His container ship crashed into a US oil tanker in the North Sea and he is charged with manslaughter on the grounds of gross negligence. Crew member Mark Angelo Pernia, 38, died in the collision off the East Yorkshire coast.
