CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 2 at 10am Preliminary hearing in the case of Rhys Edwards and Talan Vincent, both aged 18, who have been jointly charged with the alleged offences, which are contrary to the Terrorism Act 2006.

Court 2 at 11am prelimnary hearing in the case of Mohammed Asim Bashir, who allegedly drove the Manchester synagogue attacker to survey a UK defence site. Bashir, 31, is accused of driving Jihad Al-Shamie to UK Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, on 14 August for a hostile reconnaissance – seven weeks before the attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue.

Court 2 at 2pm Case management of alleged Hong Kong spies Chi Leung Wai, 38, and Chung Biu Yuen, 63, who are accused of being involved in surveillance and “hostile” reconnaissance against critics in the UK of the Hong Kong authorities

Court 7 at 10.30am Preparatory hearing in the case of Ercan Akbal and five other Kurds  have pleaded not guilty to membership of the proscribed group, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, also known as the PKK, between March 1 2011 and November 27 2024.

Court 8 at 10am trial of Omar Prempeh,32, and others accused of the murder of a 16-year-old, Lathaniel Burrell, who was fatally shot in south London

Court 11 at 10am trial of Leandro Kaienga, 28, and another who are accused of murdering Okechukwu Iweha, 46, just before 6am on 7 April. The victim was stabbed in Northumberland Park, North London.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Renaldo Roberts and four others in relation to the murder of Jason Romeo,20, who was stabbed to death in East London

Court 13 at 10am trial of Anthony Gilheaney accused of four counts of attempted murder after pedestrians were hit by a car in London’s West End on Christmas Day. The car was travelling on the wrong side of the road in Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho – in the capital’s theatre district – when it hit four people.

Court 16 at 10am trial continues of Michael Clarke, who is alleged to have shot dead a 17 year old girl in a drive by shooting in Wood Green, North London. The victim, Tanesha Melbourne-Blake, may not have been the intended victim, the court heard.. The shooting was part of a gang war beween the  Northumberland Park Killers (NPK) and the Wood Green Mob (WGM).
