Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Thursday
Court 1 at 10am Hearing in the case of Alexander Kareem,20, who was shot dead in Shepherds Bush, West London in what is believed to be a case of mistaken identity. The aspiring computer scientist was travelling to a friend’s house on a scooter and was shot from a passing Range Rover in June 2020.
Court 3 at 2pm Plea and trial preparation in the case of Norwegian teenager Johannes Natland. The 18 year old was arrested by firearms officers in Huddersfield on 19 March. The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command, which deals with espionage and threats from hostile states, took over the case after the arrest.
Court 5 at 10am trial of of Sundjata Keita and another accused of murder. Ahmed Deen-Jah died after being stabbed in east London in 2017.
Court 6 at 10am trial of couple Nazil Merthoca and Herbert Kalanzi accused of the murder of their three month old daughter. Kaylani Kalanzi died from a head injury alleged to be consistent with “shaking or impact”.
Court 7 at 10am trial of Nicholi Clyne and four others in relation to the murder of 34-year-old Nash Clyne in Acton, West London. At least three other people were injured during the incident in which possible shots were heard.
Court 9 Not sitting trial of Justin Robson and another accused of attempted murder after man in his 40’s was assualted in Harrow, West London
Court 10 at 10am Sentence of rapper “Billy Billions” aka Bailey McKenzie who was on trial in relation to a drive by shooting plot in Hackney, East London.
Court 11 at 10am trial of alleged satanist Declan Candiani, who told police after being arrested for terrorist offences that he had made a “pact with the devil.”Candiani claimed he had downloaded far right material, including mass killer manifestos, after becoming interested in the Satanic group Order of Nine Angles.
Court 14 at 10am Mention in the case of Harry Whittaker charged with possessing explosive substances and the poison potassium cyanide.
Court 15 at 10am trial of Jazz Reid accused of two counts of attempted murder after an eight-year-old girl and her father were seriously injured in a shooting in west London.
Court 16 at 10am trial of teenage girl, Mia Campos-Jorge, 18, and three others who are charged with murder. The victim 51-year-old Anthony Marks, was assaulted in Camden, North London
