Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Friday

Court 4 at 9.45am Mention of former Metropolitan police officer PC David Carrick, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, who has been accused of two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and a count of coercive and controlling behaviour against a woman between 2014 and 2019. He has also been charged with five counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, between 1989 and 1990, when he was a teenager.

Court 4 at 10am Sentence of Hasaan Arshad, a former employee of GCHQ, who allegedly endangering national security by taking confidential information home

Court 4 at 10am Mention in the case of Anthony Gilheaney accused of four counts of attempted murder after pedestrians were hit by a car in London’s West End on Christmas Day. The car was travelling on the wrong side of the road in Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho – in the capital’s theatre district – when it hit four people.

Court 5 at 10.30am trial of five men in relation to the murder of Sebastian James-Kraan,20. The victim died in hospital three days after being shot in Templeman Road in Hanwell, Ealing, West London

Court 6 at 10am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Andrew Cunningham accused of murdering his 57 year old sister Margaret.

Court 6 at 11am Sentence in the case of Alexander Dighton accused of attempted murder after he attacked three police officers in Wales. Police said officers challenged the man at a police station and he launched the attack. He usefd a Molotov cocktail, hatchet, knife and wooden pole. This hearing is expected to be streamed over the internet on Youtube

Court 6 Not sitting trial of a couple charged with the manslaughter of their newborn baby daughter, whose remains were found in a Lidl “bag for life” in a Brighton allotment shed.

Court 7 at 10am trial in the case of Marcus Arduni Monzo,36 accused of murdering a 14 year old boy by running up behind him and slashing his neck and chest with a samurai sword. He allegedly attacked Daniel Anjorin as he walked to school in Hainault, north-east London. Four other people – including two police officers – were seriously injured in separate attacks, all within 20 minutes.

Court 8 Not sitting Trial in the case of Paul English and six others accused of torching a storage unit containing Starlink satellite equipment due to be sent to Ukraine in a plot allegedly orchestrated by the Russian Wagner group. This is the first case under the UK’s new counter-espionage laws

Court 9 at 10am trial of Five young men, who allegedly murdered a Greek tourist in south-east London after following him for more than half an hour when he left a nightclub. Antonis Antoniadis, 26, was stabbed in the chest and suffered a deep wound to his thigh in New Cross.

Court 10 at 10am trial of a man accused of conspiracy to murder in December 2020. It relates to a drive-by shooting in Hackney, East London amid rivalry between Holly Street and London Fields gangs

Court 10 at 10am Pre-trial review in the case of a motorist accused of killing two women in a horror crash on the M20. Dr Habiba Hajallie,35, and Lisa Webber were both killed on the hard shoulder after Webber got out to help Hajallie, who had acquaplaned and hit a barrier. A third person, who got out of his car to assist was also hit and suffered serious injuries. The defendant is accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

Court 10 Not sitting trial in the case of two teenagers accused of murder. Abdul Jalloh, 23, was stabbed to death in Tower Hamlets, East London

Court 11 at 10am Trial of a 33 year old man accused of murder. The defendant had recently broken up with his girlfriend when he allegedly stabbed her father, bus driver, with a Rambo knife. The victim, Derek Thomas, 53, was walking near Stoke Newington Common in Hackney, north-east London, when a man got out of a van and approached him.

Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of seven youths charged in relation to the murder of 20-year-old Jesse Lloyd-Smith. He was shot dead in an alley close to his Peckham, London SE home

Court 13 at 10am trial of a 21 year old man and another accused in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott,17, who was shot in the head in Tottenham, North London.

Court 14 at 10am trial of two men accused of conspiracy to murder and drugs offences. They were arrested after a hack by French and Dutch police of the EncroChat encrypted phone system in April 2020 that saw messages shared with British police.

Court 15 at 10am trial of a girl in her early twenties and a youth accused in relation to the killing of 19-year-old Kamal Nuur, who was stabbed to death in Islington, North London.

Court 16 at 10am trial of five men in relation to a double murder. Leonardo Reid, 15, and 23-year-old Klevi Shekaj were attacked with Zombie knives while they filmed a drill rap music video.
