Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Friday

Court 5 at 10am trial of five men in relation to the murder of Sebastian James-Kraan,20. The victim died in hospital three days after being shot in Templeman Road in Hanwell, Ealing, West London

Court 5 at 2pm Plea and trial preparation in the case of a former clergyman, who has admitted making and distributing indecent images of children.

Court 6 Not sitting trial of a couple charged with the manslaughter of their newborn baby daughter, whose remains were found in a Lidl “bag for life” in a Brighton allotment shed.

Court 7 at 11am Preparatory hearing in the case of a 29 year old man accused of terrorist offences including possession of documents likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism

Court 8 at 10am Preliminary hearing in the case of three Ukranian men accused of arson attacks on properties allegedly linked to the prime minster Kier Starmer. The charges relate to three incidents: a vehicle fire in Kentish Town, London NW , a fire at the prime minister’s private home on the same street, and a fire at an address where he previously lived in north-west London.

Court 8 at 10.30am Preliminary hearing in the case of a Norwegian teenager. The 18 year old was arrested by firearms officers in Huddersfield on 19 March. The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command, which deals with espionage and threats from hostile states, took over the case after the arrest.

Court 8 at 11.30am Preliminary hearing in the case of a 59 year old man from Hove, East Sussex, who is charged with one count of inviting support for the proscribed organisation (HAMAS) in October 2023. The trio all arrived in the UK by irregular means, including by small boats and a lorry, between 2016 and 2022.

Court 8 Not sitting trial in the case of Paul English and six others accused of torching a storage unit containing aid due to be sent to Ukraine in a plot allegedly orchestrated by Russia

Court 8 at 2pm Preliminary hearing in the case of three Iranian men accused of spying for Iran. The three defendants were granted temporary leave to remain in the UK after claiming asylum. They arrived in the UK between 2016 and 2022. One arrived in 2016 concealed in a lorry. The other two arrived in small boats.

Court 9 at 9.45am trial of a hospital worker and an NHS trust, who have both denied causing the death of a 22-year-old mental health patient after she allegedly gained access to items used in 18 earlier attempts to take her own life. Alice Figueiredo died at Goodmayes Hospital, north-east London, in 2015.

Court 10 Not sitting trial of a man accused of conspiracy to murder in December 2020. It relates to a drive-by shooting in Hackney, East London amid rivalry between Holly Street and London Fields gangs

Court 12 Not sitting trial in the case of seven youths charged in relation to the murder of 20-year-old Jesse Lloyd-Smith. He was shot dead in an alley close to his Peckham, London SE home

Court 13 at 10am Sentence in the case of a 22 year old man accused of stabbing to death 33-year-old Josh McKay in Waltham Forest, East London.

Court 13 Not sitting trial of a 21 year old man and another accused in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott,17, who was shot in the head in Tottenham, North London.

Court 14 at 10.30am trial of two men accused of conspiracy to murder and drugs offences. They were arrested after a hack by French and Dutch police of the EncroChat encrypted phone system in April 2020 that saw messages shared with British police.

Court 15 at 10am trial of a girl in her early twenties and a youth accused in relation to the killing of 19-year-old Kamal Nuur, who was stabbed to death in Islington, North London.

Court 16 at 10am trial of five men in relation to a double murder. Leonardo Reid, 15, and 23-year-old Klevi Shekaj were attacked with Zombie knives while they filmed a drill rap music video.
