Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday

Court 5 at 10am trial of three family members accused of the murder of 10 year old Sara Sharif, whose body was discovered at her home in Woking, Surrey. The child’s father, Urfan Sharif, 42, stepmother, Beinash Batool, 30, and uncle, Faisal Malik, 28, are accused of murder and to causing or allowing the death of a child between December 16 2022 and August 9 2023. The father admitted punishing her for being”naughty” after fleeing to Pakistan. She suffered a catalogue of appalling injuries including broken bones, bites, and iron burns.

Court 7 at 10am trial of Christopher Wilson accused of murder. The victim, 18-year-old Kacem Mokrane, was stabbed in the stomach in Walthamstow, east London.

Court 9 at 9.45am Sentence of Patrick Ruane ,who was found guilty of two charges of encouraging terrorism. Ruane belonged to Telegram groups that believed in a large-scale conspiracy theory that Covid-19 and subsequent vaccines were Government fabrications designed for population control.

Court 9 at 10.30am trial of hospital worker Benjamin Aninakwa and an NHS trust who have both denied causing the death of a 22-year-old mental health patient after she allegedly gained access to items used in 18 earlier attempts to take her own life. Alice Figueiredo died at Goodmayes Hospital, north-east London, in 2015.

Court 10 at 11am trial in the case of in the case of Kofi Nyanor and two others accused drugs and conspiracy to commit violence offences.

Court 11 at 10am trial of Tyreece Riggon and another in relation to the murder of Lavaun Witter,22, who was stabbed to death in Croydon, south London

Court 12 at 10am trial of Saqib Khan and others accused in relation to the murder of 26-year-old Anselam Senaj, who was stabbed to death inside a car in East London.

Court 13 at 10am Sentence in the case of Bruno Kuci and others, who were arrested after cocaine worth 184 million pounds was found at Portsmouth port. This is one of the largest ever seizures in the UK

Court 13 Not sitting trial in the case of Tyrese Osei-Kofi, 24, over the death of Jamel Boyce, who was stabbed outside a Sainsbury’s in Clapham, south London, in October 2016. The victim died six years after the attack from a heart attack and brain damage.

Court 14 at 10am trial of Dajour Jones accused of the murder of 20-year-old Jamie Gilbey, who disappeared. His body was found in South Norwood, South London
