Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Friday

Court 3 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Hasaan Arshad, a former employee of a “sensitive government organization” who is facing charges for allegedly endangering national security by taking confidential information home.

Court 3 at 10.30am Mention in then case of drill rapper, Al-Arafat Hassan, who is accused of plotting a terrorist attack in central London 

Court 3 at 11am Preliminary hearing in the case of Christopher Cash and Christopher Berry, who are accused of spying for China and breaching the Official Secrets Act.

Court 5 at 12 noon Sentence in the case of Lee Byer accused of the murder of a grandfather, who was riding his mobility scooter. Thomas O’Halloran, 87, died after he fell victim to what was alleged to be an “unprovoked” and “vicious knife attack” 

Court 11 at 10am trial in the case of Robert Shorter accused of perverting the course of justice in relation to the murder of Justin Bello, whose body was found dumped in a bin in 2019.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Tyrese Barnett and seven others in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott, 17, died in hospital in Tottenham, North London from a gunshot wound to his head.

Court 13 at 10am trial in the case of Mohamed Nur accused of an unprovoked, stranger murder in broad daylight on a woman in Brixton, South London. Johanita Dogbey, 31, was attacked from behind with a makeshift blade.

Court 14 at 10.30am Mention in the case of Rammon Mali accused of murder. Rijkaard Siafa ,22, was stabbed to death in Croydon Town centre in South London.

Court 15 not sitting trial in the case of Suvenca Martis and two others, who are charged with murdering Richard Obi, 25, whose body was found by his sister after she received a mystery call and was directed to the scene. The victim’s mother was tied up with duct tape close to the body of her son. Obi had been stabbed nine times

Court 16 not sitting trial in the case of Asad Sharif and five others in relation to the murder of 18-year-old Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah in East London in 2021. The victim was shot and stabbed.
