Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday

Court 3 at 10am Mention in the case of Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary and another. Choudary is charged with directing a terrorist organisation, being a member of the proscribed organisation Al-Muhajiroun (ALM) and addressing meetings to encourage support for the group.

Court 5 at 2pm Plea in the case of Lee Byer accused of the murder of a grandfather, who was riding his mobility scooter. Thomas O’Halloran, 87, died after he fell victim to what was alleged to be an “unprovoked” and “vicious knife attack” 

Court 7 at 10am trial of Denzel Kwateng and seven others in relation to the murder of 17-year-old Denardo Samuels-Brooks, who was stabbed to death in Streatham, South London.

Court 8 at 10am Sentence in the case of drink driver Tarnjeet Multani, 21, who was almost three times the speed limit when he collided and killed Kishore Kumar Gill, 59, in Ealing, west London, on 15 February 2022. 

Court 8 at 2pm Sentence of Karl Black and three others in relation to the murder of Jordan Briscoe, 25, who was stabbed to death in Tottenham, North London.

Court 10 at 2pm Hearing in the case of Italian wine company boss, Livio Mazzarello, who was alleged to have carried out a 38 million pound tax scam on imported bottles of wine.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Tyrese Barnett and seven others in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott, 17, died in hospital in Tottenham, North London from a gunshot wound to his head.

Court 13 at 10.30am New trial in the case of Mohamed Nur accused of an unprovoked, stranger murder in broad daylight on a woman in Brixton, South London. Johanita Dogbey, 31, was attacked from behind with a makeshift blade.

Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Asad Sharif and five others in relation to the murder of 18-year-old Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah in East London in 2021. The victim was shot and stabbed.
