CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON THURSDAY

Court 5 at 10am trial of Mark Gordon and Constance Marten charged with manslaughter, concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. A huge search was sparked when Constance was known to have given birth. The couple went on the run because they did not want the baby to be taken into care. The baby’s body was found in woodland near Brighton.

Court 5 at 10am trial in the case of Northampton teacher Fiona Beal accused of stabbing to death her partner, Nicholas Billingham,42. His partly mummified remains were discovered in the garden four-and-a-half months after he was last seen.

Court 6 at 10am trial of alleged hitman Michael Ematuwo and three others accused of plotting to murder a rival. They were arrested after police decoded conversations on an encrypted military-grade chat room.

Court 7 at 10am trial of Denzel Kwateng and seven others in relation to the murder of 17-year-old Denardo Samuels-Brooks, who was stabbed to death in Streatham, South London.

Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Enriko Spadiu and others accused of murder. Kai McGinley,24, was shot dead in Erith, Kent.

Court 12 at 10.30am trial of Tyrese Barnett and seven others in relation to the murder of Tyler McDermott, 17, who died in hospital in Tottenham, North London from a gunshot wound to his head.

Court 13 at 10.30am trial in the case of Matthew Haydon, 47, charged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life or property in Loring Road, Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire.

Court 15 at 10am trial in the case of Suvenca Martis and two others, who are charged with murdering Richard Obi, 25, whose body was found by his sister after she received a mystery call and was directed to the scene. The victim’s mother was tied up with duct tape close to the body of her son. Obi had been stabbed nine times

Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Asad Sharif and seven others in relation to the murder of 18-year-old Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah in East London in 2021. The victim was shot and stabbed.
