Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday
Court 1 at 10am Application in the case of financial analyst, Asad Bhatti who was convicted of terrorist offences. He was accused of possessing chemicals, which were found in a storage unit and were capable of producing the explosive substance nitroglycerine. Three remote detonators, including an improvised detonator that contained traces of an explosive substance, were also allegedly found at his Redhill, Surrey home and in the storage unit.
Court 1 at 12 noon Sentence in the case of Edward Little accused of plotting a terror attack in London’s Hyde Park. Little, 21, allegedly planned to buy a firearm and kill a Christian preacher and others gathered at Speakers’ Corner.
Court 2 at 10am trial in the case of Petko Zhutev who was arrested in a police operation that netted up to 184 million pounds worth of cocaine.
Court 5 at 10am New trial of Tyreece Riggon and others, accused of the murder of Lavaun Witter,22, was stabbed to death in Croydon, south London.
Court 6 at 10am Pre-trial review in the case of Dajour Jones accused of the murder of 20-year-old Jamie Gilbey, who disappeared. His body was found in South Norwood, South London
Court 6 at 10am trial of Jamal Grant and two others accused of stabbing to death 25-year-old Devon Jensen-Wallace in Brent, West London.
Court 7 at 10.30am trial of Agash Jeyanandam and two others accused of murder. The victim, Abdul Rahman, 59, is believed to have died after being subjected to a violent assault.
Court 12 at 10am trial of Joshua Broddle and others in relation to the discovery of two explosive devices in Greys Inn, in the heart of London’s legal quarter. Court 15 at 10am trial of Abdul Yaro and three others accused of murder. Shea Gordon, 17, was stabbed repeatedly in the street in Mile End, east London, outside an 18th birthday party.
Court 14 at 9.45am Sentence of Jack Forde, who FaceTimed his girlfriend while he beat to death his 74-year-old grandfather at his home in London SE.
Court 15 at 10am trial of Abdul Yaro and three others accused of murder. Shea Gordon, 17, was stabbed repeatedly in the street in Mile End, east London, outside an 18th birthday party.
Court 16 at 10.30am New trial in the case of Javid Ahmadzai, who is charged with killing Moosakhan Naseri, 20, who was knifed in the chest as he sat in an East London park in 2017. Mr Naseri had been in London for two years after fleeing Afghanistan when his family were shot dead as they slept by Taliban. His father was in the Afghan army
