Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Monday

Court 1 at 10am trial of tram driver Alfred Dorris, he was in control of the tram that crashed at Sandilands, Croydon in November 2016, killing seven people and injuring 51. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of breaking health and safety laws that led to the derailment. It is claimed he had a micro sleep when going three times the speed limit.

Court 2 at 11am Mention in the case of Shaun Pendlebury and two others accused of the murder of Shakira Spencer, 35. The female victim was allegedly tortured and killed and her body left to rot in a child’s bunk bed. She was found in a badly decomposed state.

Court 5 at 11am trial of Joshua Broddle and others in relation to the discovery of two explosive devices in Greys Inn, in the heart of London’s legal quarter.

Court 6 at 10.30am New trial of Muhammad Arslan accused of murdering his girlfriend, university student Hina Bashir,21. The victim went missing and her decomposing body was found days later, in a suitcase in a ditch

Court 7 at 10.30am New trial in the case of Ronnie Haydon and others accused of murder. Imran Isat,30, was stabbed to death in Newbury Park, East London

Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Leone Davies and others accused of murder. The victim, 31-year-old Mirko Naramcic was stabbed to death.

Court 9 at 10.30am New trial of Godfrey Madondo and another accused of murder. Jeremiah Sewell, 19, was stabbed in the neck as he sat in a parked car in Lewisham, London SE.

Court 10 at 10am trial in the case of Petko Zhutev and two others, who were arrested in a police operation that netted up to 184 million pounds worth of cocaine.

Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Amraj Poonia and five others accused over the murder of Mohammed Shah Subhani,27, known as Shah, who was reported missing on May 7, 2019, when he failed to return to his home in Hounslow, west London. His body, which allegedly had shown signs of being tied up and burned was found by chance in woodland.
