CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON MONDAY

Court 1 Not sitting trial  in the case of Danville Neil, who  is accused of killing 74-year-old Ann Castle and her 71-year-old brother William Bryan, almost 25 years ago in August 1993. He is also accused of burglary.

Court 4 at 9.30am Mention in the case of financial analyst, Asad Bhatti charged with terrorist offences. He is accused of possessing chemicals, which were found in a storage unit and were capable of producing the explosive substance nitroglycerine. Three remote detonators, including an improvised detonator that contained traces of an explosive substance, were also allegedly found at his Redhill, Surrey home and in the storage unit.

Court 4 at 10.30am Mention in the case of Deekan Vig accused of murdering his 86 year old father. The pensioner died of a head wound.

Court 5 at 10.30am New trial of Met police officer PC Edward Welch accused of causing the death of a child actor and his aunt during a police chase as officers pursued a fleeing driver. PC Welch faces four charges, including two counts of causing death by dangerous driving after Makayah McDermott and Rozanne Cooper were killed in the chase nearly five years-ago.

Court 6 at 10am  trial in the case of David Cheres accused of murder. Thai national Tiparat Argatu, 43, died from neck and head injuries at a property in east London after her husband, Cheres, found out she was having an affair with the victim.

Court 7 at 10.30am trial of former GP Manish Shah, who allegedly persuaded patients to have vaginal and breast examinations for his ‘sexual gratification’, Shah, 53, denies 41 sexual offences against eight victims over a five-year period between 2009 and July 2013.

Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Mohammed Ali and two others accused of murder. Iron Miah,40, was shot in the head in Whitechapel, East London.

Court 10 at 10.30am New trial in the case of Rehal Theobolds, 20, and another accused of murder for the alleged role they played in 20 year old Anthony Adekola’s death. The victim was attacked as he walked home home

Court 11 at 10am trial in the case of Kieran McHugh and another accused of murder. Abdi Khadar Adan,32, died in hospital after he was stabbed in East London at around 4.30pm on Sunday August 22

Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of Ronnie Haydon and others accused of murder. Imran Isat,30, was stabbed to death in Newbury Park, East London

Court 13 at 10am trial in the case of Ayub Khan,19, charged with possessing a knife linked to a terror plot and trying to encourage terrorist attacks over a WhatsApp group chat.

Court 14 at 9.30am Plea and trial preparation PC Nadeem Patel accused of causing death by dangerous driving. Shante Daniel-Folkes, 25,from West Norwood, south-east London, was struck by the vehicle in Stockwell Road, Brixton, south London, as it was answering an emergency call at around 11.20pm on Thursday June 9 last.

Court 16 at 9.30am Pre-trial review in the case of Simon Pilgrim,40, who has been charged with making an explosive substance for unlawful purposes and three charges of possessing a document containing information useful to terrorism.

Court 16 at 10am trial in the case of Cornell Burrell and Oliver Scott accused of murder. The body of gym sales manager Justin Bello,38 was body found in a bin shed by dustmen. He had been strangled. Three others are also in the dock accused of trying to cover up the crime.
