Cases of interest at the Old Bailey on Friday
Court 1 at 9am Mention in the case of pensioner Dennis McGrory,77, accused of rape and murder. He allegedly sexually assaulted, stabbed and strangled 15-year-old Jacqui Montgomery in her home in Offord Road, Barnsbury, North London, nearly 50 years ago in June 1975.
Court 1 at 10am Mention in the case of Erik Feld accused of murder. Ranjith Kankanamalage,53, suffered a hammer attack and her body was found in a cemetery with catastrophic head injuries in the early hours.
Court 2 at 10.30am Plea in the case of Omar Mechita, who was arrested after a shooting in a West London property.
Court 5 at 10am trial in the case of Jaden McGibbon and another accused of murdering 19-year-old Taylor Cox, who was shot in the head in broad daylight in Islington, North London.
Court 7 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Cavan Medlock, who was allegedly armed with a knife when he is claimed to have carried out a racist attack on a firm of lawyers that he blamed for assisting migrants. Medlock allegedly attacked the London offices of Duncan Lewis solicitors, which has been involved in a series of high-profile immigration cases, days after Priti Patel, the home secretary, claimed that “activist lawyers” were frustrating the removal of failed asylum seekers.
Court 8 at 10am trial of Romain Lapierre and others, including a youth who was 15 at the time of the offence, accused of murder. The victim, 16-year-old Camron Smith, was stabbed to death in Croydon, South London
Court 9 at 10am trial in the case of Jaden Forde and another accused of murder. The victim, 19-year-old Ahmed Beker was stabbed to death in Paddington Green, West London.
Court 10 at 10am trial in the case of Darius Kwayke and two others accused of murder. Salem Koudou, 19, was stabbed 32 times after he was chased by up to 15 people intent on revenge in Brixton, south London, after he alleged gate crashed a rival gang’s party.
Court 11 at 10am trial in the case Ramela Gordon and another and accused drugs and conspiracy to commit violence offences.
Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of Reuel Briscoe and others accused of attempted murder after a 32 year old man was shot in Hackney, East London.
Court 13 Not sitting trial in the case of Jahtel Williamson accused of murder. Music producer Dean Pascal-Modeste,21, was stabbed in Mottingham, South London on February 24, 2017, when he was ambushed by a mob while walking to a recording studio.
Court 15 at 10am trial in the case of Sulai Bukhari aka Sulai Man for allegedly attempting to murder a 61-year-old social worker as he carried out a welfare check on two vulnerable children in Wood Green, North London. The social worker and two police officers were stabbed during the incident.
Court 16 at 10am trial of Daryl Bethel and others accused of the murder of a 15 year old schoolboy. Ian Habimana was stabbed in the heart in Woolwich last July as he made his way home from school in what was described as a “revenge attack.
Court 16 at 10.30am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Javid Ahmadzai, who is charged with killing Moosakhan Naseri, 20, who was knifed in the chest as he sat in an East London park in 2017. Mr Naseri had been in London for two years after fleeing Afghanistan when his family were shot dead as they slept by Taliban. His father was in the Afghan army.
