CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON MONDAY

Court 1 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Louis De Zoysa charged with the murder of Police Sergeant Mat Ratana, who was shot dead at the Croydon Custody Centre in South London . De Zoysa suffered a gunshot wound to the throat. It has been reported that at the time of the shooting, which took place in the early hours of September 25 last year, De Zoysa was an employee of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. De Zoysa, 23, has been in hospital under police guard for the last nine months since the fatal incident.

Court 1 at 10am Mention in the case of lorry driver Christopher Kennedy  and others over their links to  human trafficking after the deaths of 39 Vietnamese people found in the back of a lorry in Essex in October 2018.

Court 5 at 10am trial in the case of Kane Gilead accused of murder. The victim 25-year-old Ramane Wiggan, was shot dead in Lambeth, South London

Court 6 at 10am trial in the case of Luke Matthews and others accused of murder.  Kyle Kelson, 25, was blasted in the head with a shotgun in the early hours of June 19 in North Cheam, Surrey.

Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of David Adeyanju and others accused of murder. Minicab driver Gabriel Bringye, 37, was found collapsed inside a vehicle in Tottenham, north London suffering from stab wounds.

Court 9 at 10am trial of Asad Bhatti charged with terrorist offences. He is accused of possessing chemicals found in a storage unit that were capable of producing the explosive substance nitroglycerine. Three remote detonators, including an improvised detonator that contained traces of an explosive substance, were also allegedly found at his Redhill, Surrey home and in the storage unit.

Court 10 at 12 noon Pre-trial review in the case of Bobby Ternent and another accused of murder. John Avers,47, was run over by a car and killed in Dagenham, East London 

Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of Leon Smith, 39, Warwick Burrows, 47, and others, who are said to have been part of a gang war waged against Turkish crime families in north London. They deny conspiracy to murder.

Court 14 at 10.30am New trial in the case of pensioner Keith Bettison,71, who denies murdering his 48 year old wife Ildiko Bettison in Chessington, London SW

Court 15 at 10am Sentence in the case of Junior Gbadamosi accused of attempted murder. The 22 year old allegedly hit a woman neighbour around the head with a guitar and a cat scratcher. She claims he repeatedly shouted: “In the name of Jesus, you’re a Satanist, you deserve to die.”
