CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 5 at 10am Sentence in the case of Shariq Khan and others accused of murder. Mohammed Mirza, 19, was stabbed to death in Ilford, East London last November.

Court 5 Not sitting trial in the case of Kane Gilead accused of murder. The victim 25-year-old Ramane Wiggan, was shot dead in Lambeth, South London

Court 6 at 10am Plea and case management in the case of Abu Deghayes accused of encouraging terrorism during a speech at a Brighton mosque. it is claimed that at the time he “intended or was reckless as to whether members of the public would be directly or indirectly encouraged to commit, prepare or instigate acts of terrorism”.

Court 6 at 12 noon trial in the case of Matthew Henegan, who allegedly kept a terrorist weapons manual and handed out leaflets to ‘stir up racial hatred’.

Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Bryan Patino-Guerrero accused of a serious sexual offence.

Court 10 at 9.30am Mention in the case of James Sinclair accused of murder. Shadika Mohsin Patel, 40, was stabbed repeatedly in the chest in East Ham, East London in the early hours of Thursday, March 19.

Court 10 at 10.30am Mention in the case of Kemar Brown and Phylesia Shirley. The mother, and her former boyfriend are accused of killing her two-year-old son The toddler suffered 39 fractures.

Court 10 at 11am Mention in the case of Mark Alexander accused of murder. The charge follows a 26-year-old woman, named as Azaria Williams, who was pronounced dead at a Stockwell, South London address following reports of a distubance.

Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of Leon Smith, 39, Warwick Burrows, 47, and others, who are said to have been part of a gang war waged against Turkish crime families in north London. They deny conspiracy to murder.

Court 12 at 10.15am Sentence in the case of Scott Porter, charged with making or possessing an explosive substance in suspicious circumstances, and three counts of possessing “terrorist-related material”.

Court 14 at 10.30am trial of Nicola Leighton and her son Tyreese Ulysses,19, accused of murdering Levi Ernest-Morrison,17, who was hacked to death in a machete attack in Sydenham, London SE.
