CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON WEDNESDAY

Court 1 at 9.45am Sentence of former child actor Paul Ballard accused of causing the death of two people by dangerous driving. Ballard, 39, was behind the wheel of a VW Golf when he crashed into the back of the car of 64-year-old Eileen Haskell as she waited at traffic lights. The second victim, Richard Trezise, 48, was struck and killed by Ms Haskell’s out of control car as he stood at a nearby bus stop.

Court 2 at 10am trial of Khalid Hogan and another accused of murder. Abdullahi Mahmoud, 29, was shot dead in Enfield, North London.

Court 5 at 10am trial in the case of Ainsley Watson and two 17 year old accused of attempted murder. Cyclist Riccado Smith-Atkin, 22, was stabbed in his bike shed on 11 January.

Court 8 at 9.30am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Oliver Muldowney accused of the murder of  39-year-old Tim Hipperson, who died in hospital on Thursday, 20 May. He was stabbed on Monday, 17 May.

Court 9 at 10am trial in the case of Damien Simmons accused of the murder of singer Eddy Grant’s niece. He allegedly left primary school assistant Denise Keane-Barnett-Simmons to burn to death at a house fire in  Stonebridge, northwest London

Court 12 at 10am trial in the case of 18 year old Muhammad Jalloh and two others, who deny murder. David Gomoh, 24. an NHS worker, was stabbed to death outside his home in Newham, east London.

Court 13 at 10.30am trial of Tishaine Johnson-Farrell and another accused of attempted murder after a 16 year old youth was stabbed in Haringey, North London.
