CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 1 at 10am (appearing remotely) Sentence of William Clapperton, who was found guilty of attempting to murder his estranged wife. He could not stand the thought of her being with another man and attempted to break his wife’s neck with his bare hands. He also attacked the woman, who is her forties,w ith a meat cleaver

Court 5 at 10am trial of Saharded Hassan and two others accused of a double shooting near Queensbury tube station in West London. Leon Maxwell,38, was shot dead, a 26 year old man survived the attack on May 1, 2018 just after 9pm

Court 6 at 10.30am trial of Levi Paschal, who is accused of the murder of 39-year-old Lee Casey who was stabbed to death in south London. He also denies attempting to wound a second victim and conspiracy to rob.

Court 6 at 2pm Mention in the case of Richard Hand accused of stabbing to death Yassar Mustakim Moussa, 37, who had a 10-month-old son. His body was found in a park in Walthamstow, East London.

Court 8 at 10am trial  in the case of  Fardeen Mirza and others charged  with three counts of conspiracy to commit murder after a double shooting in Ilford, Essex.

Court 9 at 10am Pre-trial review in the case of Sheldon Crawford-Proverbs accused of assisting an offender relating to the murder of James Amadu,26, who was stabbed to death in Enfield, North London.

Court 9 at 2pm Sentenc in the case of Joel Osei, who is accused of  murder, poisoning, theft and fraud after champion Irish dancer, Adrian Murphy, 43, was found dead in his apartment in Battersea, southwest London on 4 June 2019.

Court 9 Not sitting trial of Souhaib Embarek accused of terror offences. The Spanish national is alleged to have been in posession of a stash of terrorist publications, including bomb-making instructions

Court 12 at 9.30am Case management in the case of Daniel Burrell accused of murder. Barrington Davis,54, was knifed to death in Lewisham, London SE in May

Court 12 at 10am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Bobby Ternent and another accused of murder. John Avers,47, was run over by a car and killed in Dagenham, East London 

Court 12 at 2pm trial of Shaian Forde, 25, and others including two schoolboys aged 14 and 16, accused of murder. Santino Angelo Dymiter,18, was stabbed to death in East London.

Court 13 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Iddi Zito and four others accused of murder. David Lawal, 25, was stabbed to death in Thetford, Suffolk

Court 14 at 9.30am trial of Hafid Omar and two others accused of murder. Rail worker Asante Campbell, 24, was set upon by four hooded men on an estate in Hendon north London, and stabbed to death

Court 16 at 9am Preliminary hearing in the case of Ismail Abdurahman,who was convicted in February 2008 of assisting an offender and failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism. The charges related to the attack on the London underground on 21 July 2005 in which three devices were detonated but each failed to explode. The case was sent by the Appeal court for a retrial

Court 16 at 9.30am Preliminary hearing in the case of Baghdad Meziane accused of terrorist related offences.

Court 16 at 11am Sentence in the case of HGV driver Maurice Robinson and others in relation to a lorry in which 39 Vietnamese migrants died. Eight women and 31 men were found in the container in Purfleet, Essex, on 23 October last year. Police said they died from a lack of oxygen and overheating in an enclosed space.
