CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON MONDAY

Court 2 at 10am Plea and trial preparation in the case of James Watson, who is charged with murdering six year old Rikki Neave. Rikki’s naked body was found in woodland a few minutes from his home in Welland, Peterborough, on November 29 1994. Watson would have been 13 at the time of the killing. He was arrested following a cold case review.

Court 2 at 12.15pm Mention in the case of senior executive Leslie Winnister,68, accused of murdering his wife, Suzanne at their £1.6m house in Bexley, London SE. The victim suffered severe head and neck injuries. The husband is named as a director of various subsidiaries of British Telecom based at the company’s London HQ.

Court 5 at 10am Mention in the case Abel Berhany,who is charged with the murder of 56-year-old Abraham Haile on July 28. The victim was stamped on at City Slots, an amusement arcade in Camden, North London.

Court 5 at 11am Application under the Proceeds of Crime Act in the case of Kazeem Akinwale accused of laundering £6 million for criminals around the world.  The scam, known as a mandate fraud was finally unravelled when Christie’s Auction house realised it was being targeted, sparking a National Crime Agency investigation which led back to Nigerian-born Akinwale.

Court 6 at 10.30am trial of Levi Paschal, who is accused of the murder of 39-year-old Lee Casey who was stabbed to death in south London. He also denies attempting to wound a second victim and conspiracy to rob.

Court 7 at 9.30am Mention in the case of husband and wife, Sarah and Scott Walker accused of murdering their missing 17 year old daughter Bernadette. The family lived in Peterborough

Court 8 at 10.30am trial of Francis Appiagyei and two others accused of murder. David Bello-Monerville,38, was fatally stabbed in Barnet, north London, on 18 June. The victim’s two brothers had also met violent deaths.

Court 9 at 10.15am trial of Stephen O’Rourke accused of murder. Rocky Djelal, a 38 year old father, was stabbed to death in London SE.

Court 12 at 10am trial of Shaian Forde, 25,  and others including two schoolboys aged 14 and 16, accused of murder.  Santino Angelo Dymiter,18, was stabbed to death in East London.

Court 14 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Gavin Lewis who is accused of murdering Sandra Samuels, 44, at her Stoke Newington, North London home

Court 16 at 10.15am Defence case continues in the trial of HGV driver, Eamonn Harrison and three others in relation to a lorry in which 39 Vietnamese migrants died. Eight women and 31 men were found in the container in Purfleet, Essex, on 23 October last year. Police said they died from a lack of oxygen and overheating in an enclosed space
