CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 1 at 9,30am Sentence of Mustafa Arezo, who killed both his parents after he refused to take his anti-psychotic drugs. Arezo, 32, stabbed to death his father Akbar Arezo, 74, and mother Layla, 73, last summer due to a psychiatric disorder.

Court 1 at 2.30pm Mention in the case of retired engineer, Bakri Siraj-Eldin,79, who was jailed in 2004 for stabbing a 23 year old man. The victim died in 2017 from brain damage as a result of the attack and the pensioner now faces a murder charge.

Court 5 at 10am trial of Nikolay Zhivkov accused of murdering a fellow Bulgarian national in Croydon, South London. Krasimir Kartikov,60, died of multiple injuries.

Court 7 at 10.30am trial in the case of James Whyte and Crystal Culhane, both 21, accused of attempting to murder Paul Flory, 33, with a baseball bat. He was left in a critical condition.

Court 8 at 10am trial in the case of Shehroz Iqbal charged with dissemination of terrorist material contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Court 9 at 2pm Mention in the case of Freddy Grant and others, including a 14 year old schoolboy following an investigation into the alleged attempted murder of the 33-year-old man on 29 December 2019 in Abbey Wood, London SE

Court 9 Not sitting trial of £90,000 a year finance consultant Clare Sanders and her partner accused of murdering their four week old baby. The tot suffered severe head injuries.

Court 14 at 10am New trial of Louis Kelly accused of murder. Mark McCann-Barrett, 33, was shot in Tottenham, North London and died three days later from his wounds.

Court 16 at 10am Mention in the case of Khairi Saadallah accused of the Reading terror attack.  Saadallah, 25, is charged with murdering James Furlong, 36, David Wails, 49, and Joseph Ritchie-Bennett, 39, with a large kitchen knife in Forbury Gardens, Reading shortly before 7pm on Saturday 20 June.

Court 16 at 10.30am Sentence of grammar schoolboy Harry Vaughan. The A level student was just 16, when he published three images and a message on Fascist Forge that were intended to encourage terrorism.

Court 16 at 2pm trial of HGV driver, Eamonn Harrison and three others in relation to a lorry in which 39 Vietnamese migrants died. Eight women and 31 men were found in the container in Purfleet, Essex, on 23 October last year. Police said they died from a lack of oxygen and overheating in an enclosed space.
