CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON WEDNESDAY
Court 2 at 10am trial of Philip Tarver accused of murdering his 86 year old mother with an ornamental sword and then decapitating her at their detached £600,000 Surrey home. He allegedly stored her head in a freezer.
Court 5 at 9.45am trial of Obina Ezeoke accused of a double murder. He is alleged to have shot dead Annie Besala Ekofo, 53, and her nephew Bervil Kalikala-Ekofo,21 in East Finchley, London. It was a case of mistaken identity. This is the fifth time Ezeoke has faced trial for these offences due to Covid 19 and other legal problems.
Court 8 at 9.30am Mention in the case of James White and Crystal Culhane accused of attempting to murder Paul Flory,33, with a baseball bat.
Court 10 at 10am Extradition hearing continues in the case of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. He is wanted in the US for allegedly conspiring with army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to expose military secrets between January and May 2010.
Court 14 at 12 noon Mention in the case of Jordan Bramble accused of strangling another patient who had recently arrived at his mental health unit and then setting his body ablaze.
Court 16 at 10am Mention in the case of teenager Dorian Steele, accused of murder. On March 19, 29-year-old Abdullahi Mahmoud died after he was shot in Hertford Road, Enfield, Middlesex.
Court 16 at 10.15.am Hearing in the case of Eamonn Harrison and another in relation to a lorry in which 39 Vietnamese migrants died. Eight women and 31 men were found in the container in Purfleet, Essex, on 23 October last year. Police said they died from a lack of oxygen and overheating in an enclosed space.
Court 16 at 10.30am Jury deliberating in the trial of Dean Smith accused of murdering his 13 year old daughter. Masie Newell suffered head injuries when she was a four week old baby in 2000 and died in 2014 allegedly as a result of the injuries.
Court 16 at 11am New trial of Errol James, 51, and Romello Briggs-Leon, 25, who deny murder. Eraj Seifi, 46, was shot in the head in West London.
Court 16 Preparatory hearing in the case of convicted terrorist Andrew Rowe accused of carrying out a £5,000 benefits fraud.
