CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 1 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Aydin Altun and two others accused of trying to mow down a police officer after a shooting in Tottenham, North London.

Court 2 at 10am trial of Philip Tarver accused of murdering his 86 year old mother with an ornamental sword and then decapitating her at their detached £600,000 Surrey home.

Court 5 at 9.45am trial of Obina Ezeoke accused of a double murder. He is alleged to have shot dead Annie Besala Ekofo, 53, and her nephew Bervil Kalikala-Ekofo,21 in East Finchley, London. It was a case of mistaken identity. This is the fifth time Ezeoke has faced trial for these offences due to Covid 19 and other legal problems.

Court 8 at 10.30am Sentence in the case of Joel Ellis, who allegedly set fire to his 59-year-old mother’s Islington, North London flat.  Beatrice Yankson died in the blaze.

Court 8 at 12 noon Plea and trial preparation in the case of Rhian Beresford accused of murder and attempted murder. Police were called at around 1pm to Acton, west London in March after a 54-year-old man died when he was struck by a car. The driver left the car and attacked another man, who was not seriously injured.

Court 8 at 2pm Mention  in the case of Errol James, 51, and Romello Briggs-Leon, 25, who deny murder. Eraj Seifi, 46, was shot in the head in West London.

Court 11 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Jordan Bramble who allegedly strangled Carl Thorpe, 46,  who had recently arrived at his mental health unit and then set his body ablaze. Bramble, 21, is charged with murder and arson at the Highgate Mental Health Centre on Dartmouth Park Hill, north London.

Court 11 at 12 noon Mention in the Case of Louis Kelly accused of murder. Mark McCann-Barrett, 33, was shot in Tottenham, North London and died three days later from his wounds.

Court 11 at 2pm Mention in the case of Tishaine Johnson-Farrell accused of attmepted murder after a 16 year old youth was stabbed in Haringey, North London

Court 11 at 3pm Plea and trial preparation in the case of Tyreese Annan and two others accused of the murder of 23 year old Jemal Ebrahim, who was stabbed to death in Haringey, North London

Court 14 at 10.30am Mention in the case of two alleged gunmen accused of stealing a luxury Range Rover in a plot to kill a rival. Leon De Silva, 21, and Rached Itani, 20, allegedly planned to murder Kemal Bassaragh on 6 November last year

Court 14 at 2.30am Plea and trial preparation in the case of Terry Jocham and Stevie Hilden, two inmates at Belmarsh prison. They are alleged to have beaten to death their cellmate, 36 year old Sundeep Ghuman

Court 14 at 10am trial of Sahal Abdi accused of murder. Randhy Skuse,27, died after suffering a single stab wound.

Court 14 at 2pm Mention in the case of Francis Appiagyei and two others accused of murder. David Bello-Monerville,38, was fatally stabbed in Barnet, north London, on 18 June. The victim’s two brothers had also met violent deaths

Court 16 at 10am Hearing in the case of Eamonn Harrison and another in relation to a lorry in which 39 Vietnamese migrants died. Eight women and 31 men were found in the container in Purfleet, Essex, on 23 October last year. Police said they died from a lack of oxygen and overheating in an enclosed space.

Court 16 at 10am Mention in the case of Richard Hand accused of stabbing to death  Yassar Mustakim Moussa, 37, who had a 10-month-old son. His body was found in a park in Walthamstow, East London.

Court 16 at 10.30am trial of Dean Smith accused of murdering his 13 year old daughter. Masie Newell suffered head injuries when she was a four week old baby in 2000 and died in 2014 allegedly as a result of the injuries.
