CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON THURSDAY
Court 1 at 10.30am trial of Aaron McKenzie accused of murder. His ex-partner, Kelly-Mary Fauvrelle, 26, was eight months pregnant when she was stabbed to death in the bedroom of her home in Thornton Heath, Surrey on June 29.
Court 2 at 10.45am Mention in the case of Levi Paschal, 33, and Clementine Jones, 31, who allegedly stabbed Lee Casey, 39, to death in Rush Common, Brixton, south London, when he tried to stop them mugging his friend.
Court 5 at 3.30am Sentence of Safiyya Shaikh, who admitted plotting to blow herself up in a bomb attack on St Paul’s Cathedral. Muslim convert Shaikh went on a reconnaissance trip to scope out the London landmark and a hotel. The 36-year-old, born Michelle Ramsden, was arrested after asking an undercover police officer to supply bombs.
Court 8 at 10.30am Retrial of Henry Long,18, and two 17 year old youths accused of murdering PC Andrew Harper, who was killed after responding to a suspected burglary. The 28-year-old newlywed died of multiple injuries when he was dragged for over a mile with his ankles trapped in a strap on a car fleeing from a crime scene.
Court 12 at 10am case of six teenagers over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old student Josiph Beker, who was stabbed outside a KFC in Edgware Road, central London.
Court 13 at 10am Jean-Marc Dable accused of murder. Akeem Dylon Barnes, 24, was stabbed to death at a party in Seven Kings, Essex.
Court 13 at 2pm Pre-trial review in the case of Michael Hand accused of three counts of blackmail where he is alleged to have demanded money “with menaces” from a company between May 2018 and February 2020. The 45-year-old also denied a charge of contaminating or interfering with goods in a place where they were sold. The company involved cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Court 16 at 10.30am trial of Mark Brazant, who is accused of stabbing a 36 year old mother from behind as she was pushing her child in a pram in South London. He denies attempted murder.
