CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON THURSDAY

Court 1 at 10.30am trial of Stephen Whiteley and Ziad Akle, former territory managers for Iraq at energy consultancy Unaoil, along with their co-defendant Paul Bond, former Middle East sales manager at Dutch energy firm SBM. They are accused of bribing officials in Iraq for contracts worth US$800 million to rebuild the country’s oil industry after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Court 8 at 10am case of six teenagers over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old student Josiph Beker, who was stabbed outside a KFC in Edgeware Road, central London.

Court 9 at 10.30am Mention in the case of former soldier Daniel Burke, accused of plotting to fight against so-called Islamic State and travelling to Syria.

Court 12 at 10am Trial of Uran Nabiev accused of killing Jake Kemp, 26, in an alleged hit and run motoring collision in Bexley, Kent.

Court 12 at 11am Mention in the case of Sahal Abdi accused of murder. Randhy Skuse,27, died after suffering a single stab wound.

Court 13 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Liban Malhamoub accused of four counts of attempted murder. A mother and her three daughters, aged five, eight and 11, were rushed to hospital following the knife attack in Enfield, North London

Court 13 at 2pm Sentence of Godwin Lunghy accused of murder. The victim, 20-year-old Sadiq Mohamed was chased, dragged from a parked car he sought refuge in and stabbed repeatedly in Kentish Town, London NW.

Court 16 at 10am trial of teenager Carlos Velez, who denies murder. David Martinez-Valencia,26, was repeatedly stabbed in a flat in Leyton, East London.
