CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY

Court 1 at 10.30am Case of Stephen Whiteley and Ziad Akle, former territory managers for Iraq at energy consultancy Unaoil, along with their co-defendant Paul Bond, former Middle East sales manager at Dutch energy firm SBM. They are accused of bribing officials in Iraq for contracts worth US$800 million to rebuild the country’s oil industry after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Court 5 at 10am Mention in the case of Andrew Dymock   accused of a string of terror offences relating to promoting and encouraging neo-Nazi terrorism

Court 5 at 10.30am Mention in the case of Kazeem Akinwale accused of laundering £6 million for criminals around the world.  The scam, known as a mandate fraud was finally unravelled when Christie’s Auction house realised it was being targeted, sparking a National Crime Agency investigation which led back to Nigerian-born Akinwale.

Court 5 at 2pm Sentence in the case of  Ahmed Aweys  accused of terror offences including the dissemination of terrorist publications.

Court 8 at 10am case of six teenagers over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old student Josiph Beker, who was stabbed outside a KFC in Edgeware Road, central London.

Court 8 at 2pm Mention in the case of Sohaib Embarek, who is charged with five counts of possessing material likely to be of use to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism

Court 12 at 11am trial of Zion Chiata accused of murder. Gavin Garraway,40, was stabbed to death close to Clapham Common tube station.

Court 13 at 10am Mention in the case of Warwick Carson accused of murder.  Abdulrahman Nassor Juma, 23, known as Mani to friends and family, was fatally knifed in Barking, east London on May 17 last year

Court 13 at 12 noon Mention in the Case of Louis Kelly accused of murder. Mark McCann-Barrett, 33, was shot in Tottenham, North London and died three days later from his wounds.

Court 13 at 2pm Mention in the case of Tyla Gopaul accused of stabbing to death  Zakaria Abukar Shariff Ali, 26, in Shoreditch, East London

Court 16 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Edison Brahimi accused of murder. Grineo Daka, 27, was shot dead at the Phoenix Snooker Club in Leyton, east London, on July 7.
