CASES OF INTEREST AT THE OLD BAILEY ON FRIDAY
Court 2 at 10.15am trial of Obina Ezeoke accused of a double murder. He is alleged to have shot dead Annie Besala Ekofo, 53, and her nephew Bervil Kalikala-Ekofo,21 in East Finchley, London. It was a case of mistaken identity. This is the fifth time Ezeoke has faced trial for these offences due to Covid 19 and other legal problems.
Court 8 at 10am Jury deliberating in the retrial of Henry Long,18, and two 17 year old youths accused of murdering PC Andrew Harper, who was killed after responding to a suspected burglary. The 28-year-old newlywed died of multiple injuries when he was dragged for over a mile with his ankles trapped in a strap on a car fleeing from a crime scene. The jury have been given a majority direction, meaning only 10 of the 12 jurors, need to agree to convict or acquit the defendants.
Court 8 at 10am Mention in the case of James Watson accused of the murderof a six year old boy 25 years ago. Rikki Neave disappeared after leaving his Peterborough home on the morning of 28 November 1994. His naked body was found the following day.
Court 10 at 2pm Preliminary hearing in the case of John Evans accused of a terrorist related offence.
Court 10 at 2.15pm Mention in the case of lorry driver, Chrstopher Kennedy, who has denied links to alleged human trafficking after the deaths of 39 Vietnamese people in England in October. Six others allegedly involved in the human trafficking plot will also appear.
Court 12 at 9.45am Mention in the case of Joel Ellis, who allegedly set fire to his 59-year-old mother’s Islington, North London flat. Beatrice Yankson’s died in the blaze. He denies murder.
Court 12 at 10.30am trial of Yasin Amare accused of murder. Gleb Zhebrovsky,34, a Russian businessman was stabbed to death Poplar, East London.
Court 14 at 9.30am Mention in the case of Shaian Forde, 25, and others accused of murder. Santino Angelo Dymiter,18, was stabbed to death in East London.
Court 14 at 11.30am Mention in the case of Nikolay Zhivkov accused of murdering a fellow Bulgarian national in Croydon, South London. Krasimir Kartikov,60, died of multiole injuries.
Court 16 at 9.45am Mention in the case of Ismail Yusuf accused of murder.. Mehran Heydari, 26, was stabbed through the heart at West Ealing station in West London
